Can You Eat Basmati Rice on Candida Diet

I had exactly the same reservations when i was first put on this diet, but don't worry, there's plenty you can eat.

For breakfast, something like a big bowl of gluten-free muesli from your local health store - I have mine with rice milk. I love it! Muesli is made of complex carbs so they all break down slowly in your system, avoiding the sugar rush. Its a really good start to the day - because it takes longer to break down, you actually stay fuller longer.

For mid-morning snacks, I stick to eating nuts - hazlenuts, cashews nuts, walnuts - a mixed bag. Sometimes I might have an apple with them.

For lunch, I tend to bring my own food into work now - rice pasta (made from brown rice so absolutely fine, there's also corn pasta), with chicken, bacon, diced peppers, in olive or hemp oil. If I don't bring food in, I might get a chicken salad and just not put on the dressing, or get some warm soup from the health store. If I do bring my own food in, I always make sure it is a big tub. I might not eat it in one go, but keep dipping into it over the space of a couple of hrs or so until it's all gone.

During the afternoon, I eat oatcakes topped with a humous dip - lovely, and again, very filling. I didnt think I liked humous either!

Evening meal, I normally have something like a grilled peace of meat (chicken, pork etc), with steamed vegetables such as peppers, broccoli, carrots, onions, whatever really cos most veg are okay, and some brown rice to bulk it up. Sometimes, I have chicken and vegetables in a curry sauce I found that's gluten, yeast and dairy free, with some brown rice.

I havent managed to find a ready-made bread that is both wheat and yeast free, but I did find a bread mix that is wheat and yeast free so now I just need to actually make it - never made bread before, no idea what it will be like!

You do have to be careful with following this type of diet, as you can easily lose weight on it. That's something I want to avoid too, so I make myself a big tub of brown rice once a week and put it in an airtight container in the fridge, and add some to most meals at home. And that's what I meant by planning really - best to know and make in advance what you're going to eat, to make sure you stick to th diet as much as possible, because that's the way you'll benefit from it most.

I know it;s difficult, but if it's any consoltaion - as a result of one month on this diet, I am no longer having slumps during the day (caused by fluctuatng blood sugar levels), my concentration levels are a million times improved, I am sleeping soundly during the night (which is unheard of for me!), and yes... my skin is clearing up. Not just the acne, but the sebderm/eczema too
